Archery on a Stag Weekend

Archery in Liverpool on your stag weekend

If you want something that is as competitive and skilful as clay shooting, but is a bit more old school, then why not consider archery for your stag weekend? This historic sport has all the makings of a fantastic stag weekend activity. It involves a weapon, you have to hit a target and you need to try hard to make sure you beat all your mates for the top score. Choose this activity in the vibrant city of Liverpool and you could be choosing an unforgettable stag weekend.

Why Archery?

Archery is an historic sport made famous by iconic figures such as Robin Hood, William Tell and the unfortunate Harold at the battle of Hastings who supposedly received an arrow to the eye. This sport requires a great deal of hand eye coordination in order to get top marks out of the target so do you think you have a steady enough aim? The bow and arrow is no longer widely used as a weapon for hunting, with many preferring to engage in archery for sporting enjoyment. In fact archery has been taken seriously enough to make it an Olympic sport so it's a far cry from running round with a plastic bow and arrow with a sucker on the end as a child.

What can you expect?

At the venue, safety is incredibly important and after a full briefing you'll be given all the equipment you need and taken out onto the range. There you will engage in target archery which means firing an arrow from the bow, over a distance and trying to hit as close to the center of the target as possible. It takes a great deal of concentration and is a brilliantly engaging activity for stag groups looking for something to test their skill. Archery is a great team building event which means when you're finished for the day and head into Liverpool for your stag night out, you'll have some strong bonds formed with the other member of the stag group.
